There were several important points made in the press conferences by Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment (UPHE) last Thursday, January 24, 2013. Here are the ones that I thought were the most important:
- Five days of exposure to bad air pollution increases the risk of infertility, miscarriage, and birth defects . . . Five bad days is enough to drop sperm counts on the Wasatch Front. - Dr. Kirtly Jones (Jan 24, 2013 – press conference) (See the video here)
- With [high level of air pollution] it is easier to get sick and it takes longer to get better. - Dr. Ellie Brownstein – Pediatrician (Jan 24, 2013 press conference) (See the video here)
- Air pollution increased the risk of heart attack by 8%. - Dr Brent Muhlestein – (Jan 24, 2013 press conference) (See the video here)
While UPHE is proposing new regulation to try to reduce outdoor air pollution, we created the Health Guardian 700 so that you don’t have to live with air pollution in your home or office.
